The Pioneer Valley Council is one of the top trained councils in the United States. Our training team conducts some of the best training in the region with a reputation for fun while learning! The Pioneer Valley Council Training Committee shares the view of the National Council, Boy Scouts of America that an untrained leader meeting with youth is unacceptable!

Wood Badge is designed
to meet the advanced training needs of all Scouting
leaders regardless of their position in Scouting.
It is open to all Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, Venture,
District and Council volunteers and professionals.
Scouting needs skilled leaders in every aspect of the program.
The purpose of Wood Badge is simple. It gives
men and women the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen
the entire Scouting program from Cub Scouting to Venturing.
It provides dedicated Scouters with the concepts, tools and
methods needed to be effective leaders. Wood Badge creates
a structured opportunity to develop and apply these leadership
skills.
